ODIGWE’S LEADERSHIP WELCOMES DELTA NORTH COLLEGE OF YOUTH

The Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Honorable Hunkamma Monday Odigwe, recently played host to the Delta North College of Youth, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to youth development and cultural preservation.

The delegation, led by Comrade Emeke Asiwe, visited the council on March 21, 2025, and was warmly received by Hon. Odigwe at his office. During the meeting, the chairman emphasized the importance of engaging young people in governance and community development, highlighting various initiatives aimed at empowering the youth in the region.

Also present at the event was Hon. Barr. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, Member of the Delta State House of Assembly representing Ika North East Constituency. She commended the youth body for its active participation in leadership discussions and urged them to take advantage of available opportunities for growth and development.

The gathering also saw the presence of Dr. Kingsley Emu, Secretary to the Delta State Government and a proud indigene of Ika North East. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and youth organizations in shaping policies that directly impact young people.

Speaking on behalf of the Delta North College of Youth, Hon. Emeke Asiwe expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated the group’s commitment to fostering leadership, mentorship, and community engagement among youths in Delta North.

In a show of local representation, Comrade Victor Onyeisi, the Coordinator of the College of Youths in Ika North East, also shared his thoughts, emphasizing the need for grassroots involvement in youth-focused policies.

Adding a cultural dimension to the occasion, Acholem Moses, a renowned speaker of the Ika language, conducted interviews with key stakeholders in the native dialect, further enriching the event with a strong sense of cultural identity.

The visit marked a significant step in strengthening the relationship between youth organizations and government leadership, underscoring the collective goal of empowering young people and preserving the rich heritage of the Ika people.

With leaders showing continued dedication to the progress of young minds, the future of Delta North appears promising.
