Ika North East LGA Partners with Railway Authority to Restore Electricity in Ute-Okpu and Idumuesah

The Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon. Hunkamma Monday Odigwe, has taken decisive action to resolve the long-standing issue of electricity outage in Ute-Okpu, Idumuesah, and surrounding communities due to repeated cases of electricity cable vandalism.

Addressing Power Outage Through Strategic Collaboration

In response to ongoing power supply challenges, Hon. Odigwe met with senior officials from the Owa-Oyibu Railway Authority at the council secretariat. The focus of the discussion was the persistent vandalism of power infrastructure, which has not only disrupted daily life but also caused significant financial losses for the local council.

On-Site Inspection and Immediate Action Plan

After the meeting, the Chairman led the Railway Authority team on an official inspection tour of the affected areas. Following the assessment, the Railway Authority committed to supporting the restoration of electricity through:
