… as APC Members from Wards 3 & 4 Defect to PDP
Former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has urged all Deltans to rally behind Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in 2027.
Speaking to party faithful in Ika North East Wards 3 and 4, Boji-Boji Owa, Okowa highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to the welfare of all Deltans, emphasizing his policies that have positively impacted the lives of ordinary citizens.
Expressing delight at the massive turnout, Okowa criticized the few PDP members who defected despite their personal achievements, which he attributed to the support and empowerment they received from the party. He acknowledged the deceptive tactics of certain individuals but remained confident that loyal party members could discern who truly had their best interests at heart.
Additionally, Okowa commended the local government party leaders for initiating a monthly contributory scheme to empower the people.
“It’s heartwarming to see party leaders unite in providing ₦100,000 grants to each of the 100 beneficiaries from these two wards,” he stated.
He acknowledged that while ₦100,000 may seem modest given the economic climate, it would significantly aid small businesses and farmers. He further praised the sustainability of the initiative, as two wards will continue to benefit from the scheme every month.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman of Ika North East, Hon. Chuks Agbormah, welcomed Okowa and other party leaders to the rally at Owa Model Primary School. He reassured them of ongoing mobilization efforts to strengthen support for Governor Oborevwori.
During the event, Hon. Agbormah formally received defecting APC members into the PDP, affirming that the party’s umbrella was broad enough to accommodate all.
